Blessed Ivetta of Huy
Blessed Ivetta of Huy (born 1158 AD in Huy, Liège, Belgium; died January 13, 1228 AD in Huy, Liège, Belgium) was a Belgian Catholic recluse and mystic who, after an unhappy forced marriage and widowhood, became first a helper of lepers and then an anchoress. Known as a spiritual advisor and prophetess, she influenced many through her contemplative life and mystical gifts. She was beatified by confirmed local cult. Her feast day is January 13.

Biography
Ivetta (Juetta) of Huy was born 1158 in Huy on the Meuse in the Prince-Bishopric of Liège. At age 13 she was forced into marriage against her will. She bore three sons and was widowed at approximately 18.
After widowhood she devoted herself to the care of lepers at a hospice near Huy. C. 1191, she became an anchoress (recluse) at the leprosy hospice, living in enclosure for 37 years until her death. During this time she exercised prophetic gifts, offered spiritual counsel to visitors, and experienced mystical visions. Her three sons all eventually entered religious life.
She died January 13, 1228, in Huy. Her feast day is January 13.
