Blessed Isabel Fernandez (died September 10, 1622 AD in Nagasaki, Japan) was a Japanese Catholic laywoman martyred at Nagasaki during the Great Martyrdom of September 10, 1622. She was part of the group known as Blessed Charles Spinola and Companions (the 205 Martyrs of Japan), beatified by Pope Pius IX on July 7, 1867. Her feast day is September 10.

Biography

Isabel Fernandez was a Japanese Catholic laywoman who was martyred during the Great Martyrdom of Nagasaki on September 10, 1622. On that day, 55 Catholics — priests, religious, and laypeople — were executed simultaneously in Nagasaki during the Tokugawa Shogunate's persecution of Christianity in Japan.

She was part of the group of 205 Martyrs of Japan (Blessed Charles Spinola and Companions). She was beatified by Pope Pius IX on July 7, 1867. Her feast day is September 10.
