Blessed Imelda Lambertini
Blessed Imelda Lambertini (born c. 1322 AD in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy; died May 12, 1333 AD in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy) was an Italian Catholic Dominican nun at the Convent of Val di Pietra near Bologna. She died in ecstasy immediately after receiving her First Holy Communion at the age of approximately 11, having longed to receive the Eucharist from an early age. She is the patron saint of First Communicants. She was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on December 20, 1826. Her feast day is May 13.

Biography
Imelda Lambertini was born c. 1322 in Bologna to the noble Lambertini family. At approximately age 9, she entered the Dominican Convent of Val di Pietra near Bologna as a child oblate.
From an early age she expressed an intense longing to receive First Holy Communion. She was repeatedly told she was too young. On May 12, 1333 — the eve of the Ascension — after Mass, a consecrated host reportedly levitated in the air above her head. The priest gave her Communion. She immediately fell into an ecstasy of divine love and died. She was approximately 11 years old.
She was beatified by Pope Leo XII on December 20, 1826. She is the patron saint of First Communicants. Her feast day is May 13.
