Blessed Humphrey Middlemore
Blessed Humphrey Middlemore (born c. 1480 AD in Warwickshire, England; died June 19, 1535 AD in London, England) was an English Catholic Carthusian monk of the London Charterhouse (Charterhouse, London) who was executed for refusing to swear the Oath of Supremacy recognizing Henry VIII as the Supreme Head of the Church of England. He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on December 9, 1886. His feast day is June 19.

Biography
Humphrey Middlemore was born c. 1480 in Warwickshire. He entered the London Charterhouse and eventually became its vicar (second in command to Prior Blessed John Houghton).
When Henry VIII demanded the Oath of Supremacy in 1535, the London Charterhouse community refused. Prior John Houghton and two other Carthusians were executed on May 4, 1535. Humphrey Middlemore, along with monks William Exmew and Sebastian Newdigate, were imprisoned in the Tower of London and chained upright for 13 days before their execution.
All three were executed by hanging, drawing, and quartering at Tyburn on June 19, 1535.
He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on December 9, 1886. His feast day is June 19.
