Blessed Humiliana de Cerchi
Blessed Humiliana de' Cerchi (born c. 1219 AD in Florence, Tuscany, Italy; died May 19, 1246 AD in Florence, Tuscany, Italy) was an Italian Catholic Franciscan tertiary widow and mystic from the noble Cerchi family of Florence. Widowed young, she devoted herself to prayer, penance, and works of charity in her family's tower house, experiencing mystical visions and ecstasies. She was beatified by Pope Innocent IV in 1246, just four years after her death. Her feast day is May 19.

Biography
Humiliana de' Cerchi was born c. 1219 in Florence to the noble Cerchi family. She married a Florentine nobleman c. 1233-1234 and had two daughters who died in infancy. Her husband died c. 1239, leaving her a widow at approximately 20 years of age.
Her father and brothers attempted to force her to remarry but she refused, choosing instead a life of prayer and penance in the family's tower house. She joined the Franciscan Third Order and devoted herself to contemplation, fasting, and works of charity. She experienced mystical visions and ecstasies.
She died May 19, 1246, in Florence at approximately 27 years of age. She was beatified by Pope Innocent IV in 1246, within months of her death. She is buried in the Church of Santa Croce, Florence. Her feast day is May 19.
