Blessed Hugolino Magalotti (born c. 1256 AD in Macerata, Marche, Italy; died c. December 11, 1373 AD in Fiumata, Rieti, Italy) was an Italian Catholic Franciscan tertiary hermit who lived as a hermit near Fiumata in the Rieti valley in Umbria-Lazio. He was beatified by Pope Pius IX. His feast day is December 11.

Biography

Hugolino Magalotti was born c. 1256 in Macerata in the Marche. As a Franciscan tertiary, he chose the hermit life and settled near Fiumata in the Rieti valley of central Italy, in the remote Sabine Mountains of Lazio.

He lived for many years as a hermit in this mountainous region, following the Franciscan spirit of poverty and contemplation. He died c. December 11, 1373, near Fiumata.

He was beatified by Pope Pius IX. His feast day is December 11.
