Blessed Hugh of Fosse
Blessed Hugh of Fosses (born c. 1093 AD in Fosses-la-Ville, Namur, Belgium; died February 10, 1164 AD in Prémontré, Aisne, France) was a Belgian Catholic Premonstratensian canon regular who was the first prior of Prémontré and the second superior of the Premonstratensian Order, succeeding its founder Saint Norbert of Xanten. He governed the order for 36 years after Norbert's elevation to Archbishop of Magdeburg, guiding its rapid expansion throughout Europe. He was beatified by confirmed local cult. His feast day is February 10.

Biography
Hugh of Fosses was born c. 1093 in Fosses-la-Ville in the province of Namur (present-day Belgium). He met Saint Norbert of Xanten at Fosses c. 1119 and became one of his first disciples. He was among the founding members of the Abbey of Prémontré in 1120.
When Norbert was appointed Archbishop of Magdeburg in 1126, Hugh became prior-general of the Premonstratensian Order. He governed the order for 38 years, overseeing its expansion from a single community to hundreds of houses throughout Europe and establishing its constitutions and governance structures.
He died February 10, 1164, at Prémontré. His feast day is February 10.
