Blessed Hugh Taylor
Blessed Hugh Taylor (born c. 1560 AD in Durham, England; died November 26, 1585 AD in York, Yorkshire, England) was an English Catholic secular priest and martyr who was executed at York for exercising his priestly ministry in England. Ordained at the English College in Reims, he returned to England as a missionary priest. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on November 22, 1987, among the Eighty-five Martyrs of England and Wales. His feast day is November 26.

Biography
Hugh Taylor was born c. 1560 in Durham. He was ordained at the English College at Reims in France and returned to England as a missionary priest. He served in Yorkshire, ministering secretly to Catholic families under the Elizabethan penal laws.
He was arrested in Yorkshire and executed by hanging at York on November 26, 1585, alongside Blessed Marmaduke Bowes, a layman who had sheltered him.
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on November 22, 1987, among the Eighty-five Martyrs of England and Wales. His feast day is November 26.
