Blessed Gundisalvus of Lagos (born c. 1360 AD in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal; died October 12, 1422 AD in Porto, Portugal) was a Portuguese Catholic Augustinian friar and theologian, renowned preacher, and professor at the University of Lisbon. He was beatified by Pope Sixtus IV in 1482. His feast day is October 12.

Biography

Gundisalvus of Lagos was born c. 1360 in Lagos, Algarve. He joined the Order of Hermits of Saint Augustine (Augustinian Hermits) and became a theologian and professor at the University of Lisbon. He was also provincial of the Augustinian province of Portugal and a renowned popular preacher.

He died October 12, 1422, in Porto, Portugal. He was beatified by Pope Sixtus IV in 1482. His feast day is October 12.
