Biography
Joan of Toulouse was a French Catholic laywoman who lived in Toulouse, Languedoc, during the period of Saint Dominic's apostolate in southern France and the founding of the Dominican Order. She became one of the earliest members of the Dominican Third Order.
She lived a life of prayer, penance, and apostolic witness in Toulouse — the city where the Dominican Order was formally organized in 1216. She died c. 1286.
She is venerated in the Dominican tradition. Her feast day is March 31.
