Blessed George Gervase
Blessed George Gervase (born c. 1569 AD in Bosham, Sussex, England; died April 11, 1608 AD in Tyburn, London, England) was an English Catholic Benedictine priest martyred at Tyburn, London, on April 11, 1608, for exercising the Catholic priesthood under the Jacobean penal laws. He was beatified by Pope Pius XI in 1929 among the English Martyrs. His feast day is April 11.

George Gervase was born c. 1569 in Bosham, Sussex, England. He was educated and ordained a Benedictine priest abroad at Douai. He returned to England to minister to Catholics under the Jacobean penal laws.
He was arrested under the act making it treason for an ordained Catholic priest to be in England. He was executed — hanged, drawn, and quartered — at Tyburn, London, on April 11, 1608.
He was beatified by Pope Pius XI in 1929 among the English Martyrs. His feast day is April 11.
