Blessed George Barkworth (born c. 1569 AD in Lincolnshire, England; died February 27, 1601 AD in Tyburn, London, England) was an English Catholic priest who was martyred at Tyburn, London, wearing a Benedictine habit, for exercising the Catholic priesthood in Elizabethan England. He is venerated among the English Martyrs. His feast day is February 27 or, in England and Wales, with the group feast of the English Martyrs.

Biography
George Barkworth (also known as Mark Barkworth) was born c. 1569 in Lincolnshire, England, in the period of the Elizabethan religious settlement that had made the practice of Catholicism illegal in England.
He was educated and ordained a priest abroad on the Continent. He made his Benedictine profession and returned to England to minister to the recusant Catholic community.
He was arrested and tried under the Elizabethan penal laws, which made it high treason for an ordained Catholic priest to be present in England. He was condemned and executed at Tyburn, London, on February 27, 1601, wearing a Benedictine habit.
He is venerated among the English Martyrs. His feast day is February 27.
