Blessed Gabriel Mary
Blessed Gabriel Mary (secular name Nicolas Morin; born c. 1463 AD in Aigueperse, Auvergne, France; died August 27, 1532 AD in Tours, Touraine, France) was a French Franciscan Observant friar from Auvergne who became one of the most revered mystics and spiritual directors of 16th-century France. He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on June 10, 1891. His feast day is August 27.

Nicolas Morin was born c. 1463 in Aigueperse, Auvergne, France. He entered the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscan Observants) and took the religious name Gabriel Mary (Gabriel Marie).
He became one of the most revered mystics and spiritual directors of 16th-century France, attracting clergy, laity, and religious who sought his spiritual counsel. He lived in the Franciscan tradition of poverty, prayer, and apostolic activity in central France.
He died August 27, 1532, in Tours, the great pilgrimage city of Saint Martin.
He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on June 10, 1891. His feast day is August 27.
