Blessed Francesco Pianzola (born June 20, 1881 AD in Mortara, Pavia, Lombardy, Italy; died April 22, 1943 AD in Mortara, Pavia, Lombardy, Italy) was an Italian Catholic priest from Mortara, Lombardy, who founded the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of the Apostles (Missionarie Apostoline) and devoted his priestly life to parish ministry, retreat work, and the formation of Catholic missionary religious. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 12, 1991. His feast day is April 22.

Biography

Francesco Pianzola was born June 20, 1881, in Mortara, Province of Pavia, Lombardy, Italy. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Pavia and served as a parish priest in Mortara.

He founded the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of the Apostles (Missionarie Apostoline), a congregation devoted to missionary apostolate and the formation of Catholic women religious.

He devoted his priestly life to parish ministry, spiritual direction, and retreat work in the Pavia diocese.

He died April 22, 1943, in Mortara.

He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 12, 1991. His feast day is April 22.
