Blessed Ferdinand Mary Baccilleri (born August 17, 1821 AD in Lugo, Emilia-Romagna, Italy; died October 23, 1893 AD in Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy) was an Italian Catholic priest from the Emilia-Romagna region who devoted himself to the spiritual care of the poor and the sick and founded the Congregation of the Oblates of the Holy Family (Oblati della Sacra Famiglia) to sustain this apostolate. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 29, 2000. His feast day is October 23.

Biography

Ferdinand Mary Baccilleri was born August 17, 1821, in Lugo, Province of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. He was ordained a Catholic priest and devoted his priestly ministry to the spiritual care of the sick and poor of Emilia-Romagna.

He founded the Congregation of the Oblates of the Holy Family (Oblati della Sacra Famiglia) to continue and sustain this apostolate, providing the structure needed to carry on pastoral work among the poor and the sick.

He died October 23, 1893, in Reggio Emilia.

He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 29, 2000. His feast day is October 23.
