Blessed Facius (born c. 1196 AD in Verona, Veneto, Italy; died January 18, 1272 AD in Cremona, Lombardy, Italy) was an Italian Catholic goldsmith from Verona who later lived as a hermit and then as a Dominican tertiary in Cremona, Lombardy, renowned for his holiness, his asceticism, and his charitable service. He is venerated in the Catholic tradition. His cult was approved, and his feast day is January 18.

Biography
Facius (also known as Facio or Fatius) was born around 1196 in Verona, Veneto, Italy. He was trained and worked as a goldsmith — one of the most skilled trades of the medieval period. He came to Cremona, Lombardy, where he plied his craft.
After years as a craftsman, he withdrew from active life and lived as a hermit in strict prayer and penance. He later joined the Third Order of Preachers (Dominican tertiaries), uniting the Dominican spirit of prayer and apostolate with his earlier life of asceticism.
He lived in Cremona for the rest of his long life, serving the poor with charity and renowned for his holiness.
He died January 18, 1272, in Cremona. His feast day is January 18.
