Blessed Everard Hanse
Blessed Everard Hanse (born c. 1549 AD in Sibbertoft, Northamptonshire, England; died July 31, 1581 AD in Tyburn, London, England) was an English Catholic priest and martyr who was ordained in France, returned to England on the underground English Mission, was arrested, and was executed at Tyburn for the crime of being an ordained Catholic priest. He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on May 4, 1886. His feast day is July 31.

Biography
Everard Hanse was born around 1549 in Sibbertoft, Northamptonshire. He was raised in a Catholic family and felt called to the priesthood.
Unable to be ordained in Protestant England, he traveled to France and was ordained a Catholic priest there. He returned to England on the English Mission — the underground priestly ministry to England's Catholic community who lacked access to the sacraments under the Elizabethan penal laws.
He was arrested within six months of his arrival. He was tried and convicted under the 1581 statute that made it high treason for a Catholic priest ordained abroad to be present in England.
He was hanged, drawn, and quartered at Tyburn on July 31, 1581 — the feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on May 4, 1886, as part of a group of 54 English martyrs. His feast day is July 31.
