Blessed Eulalie Durocher
Blessed Eulalie Durocher (born February 6, 1811 AD in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada; died October 6, 1849 AD in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada) was a Canadian Catholic religious foundress who established the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (Soeurs des Saints-Noms de Jésus et de Marie) in Longueuil, Quebec, in 1843. She died at the age of 38 after leading the congregation for only six years. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on September 20, 1982, during his pastoral visit to Montreal. Her feast day is October 6.

Biography
Eulalie Durocher was born February 6, 1811, in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada. She was the fifth of ten children in a devout Quebec Catholic farming family.
For ten years she served as housekeeper and assistant to her brother, Father Théophile Durocher, parish priest of Beloeil, Quebec, organizing catechetical and charitable works in the parish.
In 1843, at the urging of Bishop Ignace Bourget of Montreal, she and two companions founded the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (Soeurs des Saints-Noms de Jésus et de Marie) in Longueuil, Quebec, dedicated to the Catholic education of girls. She took the name Mother Marie-Rose.
She served as first Superior General of the congregation. Despite her brief leadership of only six years, the congregation she founded would grow to become one of the major educational congregations in Canadian and American history, operating across Canada, the Pacific Northwest of the United States, and internationally.
She died October 6, 1849, at Longueuil, aged 38.
She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on September 20, 1982, during his pastoral visit to Montreal. Her feast day is October 6.
