Blessed Eufrasio Barredo Fernandez
Blessed Eufrasio Barredo Fernández (born 1860 AD in Asturias, Spain; died July 9, 1900 AD in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China) was a Spanish Franciscan friar and missionary priest in China who was martyred during the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 1, 2000, as one of the 120 Martyrs of China. His feast day is July 9.

Biography
Eufrasio Barredo Fernández was born around 1860 in Asturias, Spain. He entered the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans) and was ordained a priest. He went to China as a missionary, serving in the Franciscan Vicariate of Shanxi Province in north-central China.
During the Boxer Rebellion (1899–1901), an anti-foreign and anti-Christian uprising in China, Governor Yu Xian of Shanxi Province organized a systematic massacre of foreign missionaries and Chinese Catholics in Taiyuan on July 9, 1900. Eufrasio Barredo Fernández was among those killed in this massacre, along with Bishop Gregorio Grassi, other Franciscan friars, Franciscan Missionaries of Mary sisters, and numerous Chinese Catholics.
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 1, 2000, as one of the 120 Martyrs of China. His feast day is July 9.
