Blessed Christina Ciccarelli
Blessed Christina Ciccarelli (born c. 1480 AD in Lucoli, near L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy; died January 18, 1543 AD in Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy) was an Italian Augustinian hermitess from the rugged mountain country of the Abruzzo, known for her extreme austerity, mystical gifts, and long life of solitary contemplation. She entered the Augustinian monastery of San Giuliano in Aquila as a young woman and spent decades in the life of prayer and penance characteristic of the Augustinian hermit tradition of central Italy. Her feast day is January 18.

Biography
Christina Ciccarelli was born around 1480 in Lucoli, a small mountain village near L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. She entered the Augustinian convent of San Giuliano in L'Aquila and devoted her life to contemplative prayer and austere penance in the Augustinian hermit tradition.
She lived the solitary, prayerful life characteristic of the Augustinian female mystics of 15th-16th century Italy, and was venerated by her contemporaries as a woman of exceptional holiness.
She died January 18, 1543, in L'Aquila. Her feast day is January 18.
