Blessed Carlo Liviero
Blessed Carlo Liviero (born March 22, 1866 AD in Santa Giustina in Colle, Padua, Veneto, Italy; died February 11, 1932 AD in Città di Castello, Umbria, Italy) was an Italian Catholic bishop — the Bishop of Città di Castello in Umbria — who founded the Congregation of the Pious Workers (Pii Operai) for the care and education of disadvantaged children and youth, and who was renowned for his pastoral humility, his personal holiness, and his tireless service to the poor of his diocese. Known as the "bishop of the poor," he sold his episcopal palace furnishings and personal possessions to help the destitute. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 19, 1998. His feast day is February 11.

Biography
Carlo Liviero was born March 22, 1866, in Santa Giustina in Colle in the Padua province of the Veneto. He was ordained a priest and appointed Bishop of Città di Castello in 1913.
As bishop he was known for his radical personal poverty — he sold the furnishings of the episcopal palace and his personal possessions to help the poor of his diocese, earning the title "bishop of the poor."
He founded the Congregation of the Pious Workers (Pii Operai) for the education and care of disadvantaged youth.
He died February 11, 1932, in Città di Castello. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 19, 1998. His feast day is February 11.
