Blessed Brother of the Will of God
Blessed Brother of the Will of God (also known as Blessed Volfhard or Wolfhard; died c. 1127 AD in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany; feast April 30) was a German Carmelite lay brother or pilgrim-hermit venerated in the tradition of Augsburg. He is also identified in some sources as a holy pilgrim who died at Augsburg while on pilgrimage to or from Rome. The name "Brother of the Will of God" (or, in Latin, Frater Voluntatis Dei) is a symbolic religious name indicating total submission to the will of God — a name reminiscent of the prayer of Christ in Gethsemane: "Not my will, but thine be done" (Lk 22:42). He is venerated in the Carmelite tradition and in the Diocese of Augsburg. His feast day is April 30.
