Blessed Bertha de Alberti
Blessed Bertha de'Alberti (born c. 1200 AD in Florence, Tuscany, Italy; died 1163 AD [recte: c. 1163] in Camugliano, Tuscany, Italy) was an Italian Benedictine abbess of the illustrious Alberti family of Florence who founded and governed the monastery of Saint Bartholomew at Camugliano in the Valdarno region of Tuscany, and was renowned for her humility, her charity to the poor, and her gifts of mystical prayer. She is venerated as a blessed in the Benedictine and Tuscan Catholic tradition. Her feast day is March 24.

Biography
Bertha de'Alberti was born around 1200 into the noble Alberti family of Florence — one of the great medieval Florentine families. She renounced her aristocratic position to enter religious life, becoming the abbess of the monastery of Saint Bartholomew at Camugliano in the Valdarno region of Tuscany.
As abbess she governed the monastery with wisdom and holiness, was known for her charity to the poor, and was regarded as a woman of deep prayer and mystical gifts.
She died around 1163 at Camugliano. She is venerated as a blessed in the Benedictine tradition and in the Catholic tradition of the Valdarno. Her feast day is March 24.
