Blessed Benvenuta Bojani (born October 4, 1254 AD in Cividale del Friuli, Friuli, Italy; died October 30, 1292 AD in Cividale del Friuli, Friuli, Italy) was an Italian Dominican tertiary from Cividale del Friuli in the Friuli region of northeastern Italy, renowned for her mystical gifts, her severe penances, her visions, and her tender devotion to the infant Jesus and the Passion of Christ. Born on the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, she spent her entire life in Cividale, living as a Dominican tertiary while remaining in the world — never entering a convent — and attaining an extraordinary degree of holiness through prayer, penance, and charitable service. She died October 30, 1292. She was beatified by Pope Clement XIV in 1766. Her feast day is October 30.

Biography
Benvenuta Bojani was born on October 4, 1254 — the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi — in Cividale del Friuli, a city of northeastern Italy that was the seat of the Patriarchs of Aquileia and an ancient center of Christian culture.
She became a Dominican tertiary, living the contemplative and penitential life while remaining in her family home in Cividale. She practiced severe bodily mortifications, including wearing a hair rope bound tightly around her body for five years. When this caused a life-threatening abscess, she reportedly experienced a mystical healing by the Virgin Mary and Saint Dominic.
She was known for her visions and for her intense devotion to the Passion of Christ and the infant Jesus. She spent her entire life in Cividale, never entering a convent, and died October 30, 1292, at the age of 38.
She was beatified by Pope Clement XIV in 1766. Her feast day is October 30.
