Blessed Beatrix of Lens
Blessed Beatrix of Lens (born c. 12th century AD in Lens, Artois, France; died c. 1160 AD in Flanders/Artois, France) was a Cistercian nun or laywoman venerated as a blessed in the Cistercian tradition and in the Artois-Flanders region of northern France. She was probably a noblewoman from the county of Lens (now a city in the Pas-de-Calais department of northern France) who entered a Cistercian convent in the 12th century — the great century of Cistercian expansion under Saint Bernard of Clairvaux. She is venerated locally in the Artois-Flanders tradition. Her feast day is March 7.
