Blessed Beatrix of Este the Younger
Blessed Beatrix d'Este the Younger (born c. 1226 AD in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy; died May 10, 1262 AD near Padua, Veneto, Italy) was an Italian Benedictine nun of the Este dynasty — younger than and distinct from Blessed Beatrix d'Este the Elder (d. 1226). Born in Ferrara into the Este family around the year of her predecessor's death, she entered the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria de Montova near Padua (at Gemola in the Euganean Hills) and died there on May 10, 1262 — the same feast day (May 10) as Blessed Beatrix d'Este the Elder. She was beatified by Pope Alexander VI in 1506. Her feast day is May 10.

Beatrix d'Este the Younger was born around 1226 in Ferrara — possibly in the year of Blessed Beatrix d'Este the Elder's death. She entered the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria de Montova at Gemola in the Euganean Hills near Padua.
She spent her religious life there in prayer and contemplation. She died May 10, 1262 — the same feast day as Blessed Beatrix d'Este the Elder, creating a remarkable liturgical coincidence for two blessed women of the same dynasty and the same name.
She was beatified by Pope Alexander VI in 1506.
