Blessed Bartholomew Fanti
Blessed Bartholomew Fanti, O.Carm. (born 1443 AD in Mantua, Lombardy, Italy; died December 5, 1495 AD in Mantua, Lombardy, Italy) was an Italian Carmelite friar from Mantua known for his holiness, his exceptional devotion to the Rosary and the Blessed Virgin Mary, and his apostolate of spiritual direction. He spent his entire religious life in Mantua, the city of his birth, serving both as a friar and as a spiritual guide to the faithful — including members of the Gonzaga court who were the ruling dynasty of Mantua. He died in Mantua in 1495. His cult was confirmed by Pope Leo XII in 1826. His feast day is December 5.

Biography
Bartholomew Fanti was born in 1443 in Mantua and entered the Carmelite Order. He spent his entire religious life in Mantua — the Renaissance city under the Gonzaga dynasty — serving as a friar, spiritual director, and promoter of devotion to the Rosary and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
He served members of the Gonzaga court as a spiritual guide and was known throughout Mantua for his holiness.
He died December 5, 1495, in Mantua, at age 52. This was the same year that Blessed Archangela Girlani, a Discalced Carmelite prioress, also died in Mantua — making 1495 a remarkable year in Mantuan Carmelite sanctity.
His cult was confirmed by Pope Leo XII in 1826.
