Blessed Baldassare Ravaschieri, O.F.M. Obs. (born c. 1419 AD in Chiavari, Liguria, Italy; died October 17, 1492 AD in Binasco, Lombardy, Italy) was an Italian Franciscan Observant friar from Liguria known for his holiness, his gift of healing, and his apostolate to the poor and sick. Born in Chiavari (Genoa province), he joined the Franciscan Observants and served in various houses of the Order in northern Italy. He died at the Franciscan friary of Binasco near Milan. He was particularly venerated in the Ligurian and Lombard tradition. His cult was confirmed by Pope Leo XIII in 1884. His feast day is October 17.

Biography
Baldassare Ravaschieri was born around 1419 in Chiavari, on the Ligurian Riviera, into the noble Ravaschieri family of the Genoese Republic. He entered the Franciscan Observants, renouncing his noble background for the life of evangelical poverty that Francis of Assisi had proclaimed.
He served in various Franciscan Observant houses in northern Italy — in Liguria and Lombardy — working particularly among the sick and poor, to whom he was said to minister with great charity and with reported gifts of healing.
He died October 17, 1492, at the Franciscan friary of Binasco near Milan.
His cult was confirmed by Pope Leo XIII in 1884.
