Blessed Augustine Fangi
Blessed Augustine Fangi, O.P. (born c. 1430 AD in Biella, Piedmont, Italy; died July 22, 1493 AD in Città di Castello, Umbria, Italy) was an Italian Dominican friar known for his holiness, contemplative prayer, and charitable apostolate. Born in Biella in Piedmont, he entered the Dominican Order and served as a friar in several houses, eventually dying at Città di Castello in Umbria. He was known for his deep union with God in prayer, his austerity of life, and his care for the sick and poor. His cult was confirmed by Pope Pius IX in 1872. His feast day is July 22.

Biography
Augustine Fangi was born around 1430 in Biella, Piedmont. He entered the Dominican Order and became a friar devoted to contemplative prayer and charitable work with the poor and sick.
He spent much of his Dominican life in the houses of the Order in northern and central Italy. He eventually came to Città di Castello in Umbria, where he died on July 22, 1493, at approximately age 63.
His holiness of life, recognized by his contemporaries, gave rise to a local cult that persisted for nearly four centuries until it was confirmed by Pope Pius IX in 1872.
