Blessed Arnold Reche
Blessed Arnold Jules Nicolas Reche, F.M.S. (born September 2, 1838 AD in Landres, Lorraine, France; died October 23, 1890 AD in Reims, Champagne, France) was a French Marist Brother (Brother of Mary) who dedicated his life to the Catholic education of poor children and is venerated for his holiness, patience, and spiritual depth. Born in Lorraine to a working-class family, he joined the Marist Brothers (Frères Maristes, founded by Saint Marcellin Champagnat in 1817) and spent his religious life teaching in Reims. He died young of tuberculosis, bearing his suffering with great peace. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on November 1, 1987. His feast day is October 23.

Biography
Jules Nicolas Reche was born September 2, 1838, in Landres in Lorraine. He entered the Marist Brothers (Brothers of Mary), taking the name Arnold, and became a teaching brother devoted to the education of poor children.
He spent his religious life teaching in the Catholic schools operated by the Marist Brothers in Reims, working with working-class and poor families in the industrial city.
He contracted tuberculosis and bore his long illness with patient holiness. He died October 23, 1890, in Reims, at age 52.
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on November 1, 1987 (All Saints Day).
