Blessed Antoni Julian Nowowiejski
Blessed Antoni Julian Nowowiejski (born February 11, 1858 AD in Zakroczym, Poland; died June 28, 1941 AD in Działdowo (Soldau), Poland) was a Polish Catholic bishop and martyr. He served as Bishop of Płock from 1908 until his arrest in 1939 and was killed at the Soldau concentration camp in German-occupied Poland. He was among the 108 Polish Martyrs of World War II beatified by Pope John Paul II in Warsaw on June 13, 1999. His feast day is June 12.

Biography
Antoni Julian Nowowiejski was born February 11, 1858, in Zakroczym on the Vistula river in Masovia. He was ordained a priest and served in the Diocese of Płock, eventually becoming its bishop in 1908. He served as Bishop of Płock for over 30 years.
When the Nazis invaded Poland in September 1939, he was arrested by the Gestapo. As one of the senior Catholic bishops in Poland, he was a priority target of the German campaign to destroy Polish Catholic leadership. He was imprisoned in the Soldau (Działdowo) concentration camp in northern Poland — one of the first Nazi camps on Polish soil.
He died there on June 28, 1941, at 83 years of age — the oldest of the 108 Polish Martyrs.
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in Warsaw on June 13, 1999.
