Blessed Anne Petras
Blessed Anne Petras (died 1794 AD in Laval, Mayenne, France) was a French laywoman martyred during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution. She was among the 19 Martyrs of Laval who were guillotined on January 19, 1794, in the city of Laval (Mayenne) for their refusal to abandon the Catholic faith. She was beatified by Pope Pius XII on February 19, 1955. Her feast day is January 19.

Biography
Anne Petras was a laywoman from Laval in the Mayenne department of western France. She lived in the deeply Catholic region of Maine, where the French Revolution's anti-Catholic policies — particularly the suppression of religious orders (1790), the requirement of oaths against the Church, and the persecution of refractory priests — met with strong popular resistance.
She was arrested along with 18 other Catholics — priests, religious sisters, and laywomen — and guillotined at Laval on January 19, 1794, during the Reign of Terror, for refusing to abandon the Catholic faith.
She was beatified by Pope Pius XII on February 19, 1955, as one of the 19 Martyrs of Laval.
