Blessed Anne-Marie-Madeleine Thouret
Blessed Anne-Marie-Madeleine Thouret (died July 1794 AD in Orange, France) was a French religious sister who was guillotined during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution and is honored among the Martyrs of Orange. She was one of thirty-two nuns of the contemplative communities of the Comtat Venaissin, imprisoned at Orange and condemned by the revolutionary tribunal for their fidelity to the Church and their refusal to abandon their religious vows. Her feast day is July 9.
As with several of the Martyrs of Orange, the surviving documentation preserves mainly the fact of Anne-Marie-Madeleine Thouret's constancy in the face of death rather than the details of her early life. She was beatified with her companions in 1925.

Biography
Anne-Marie-Madeleine Thouret was one of the thirty-two Martyrs of Orange, religious sisters drawn from several contemplative communities of the region around Avignon and the Comtat Venaissin. During the Reign of Terror they were arrested and confined in a makeshift prison at Orange.
Brought before the revolutionary tribunal in the summer of 1794, the sisters were condemned for remaining faithful to the Catholic Church and for refusing the oaths and renunciations demanded by the revolutionary authorities. They accepted their sentence rather than betray their consecration.
Anne-Marie-Madeleine Thouret was guillotined at Orange in July 1794 with her fellow sisters. The records of the martyrs preserve her name and her witness, though little of her earlier biography survives.
She was beatified on May 10, 1925, by Pope Pius XI among the Martyrs of Orange.
