Blessed Anne-Françoise de Villeneuve
Blessed Anne-Françoise de Villeneuve (died July 1794 AD in Orange, France) was a French religious sister who was guillotined during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution and is honored among the Martyrs of Orange. She was among the sisters of the contemplative communities of Bollène, Caderousse, Pont-Saint-Esprit, and Avignon who were imprisoned at Orange, condemned by the revolutionary tribunal for their refusal to renounce their religious vows, and put to death. Her feast day is July 9.
Because the surviving records of the Martyrs of Orange are limited for several of the sisters, few personal details of Anne-Françoise de Villeneuve are known beyond her fidelity unto death. She was beatified with her thirty-one companions in 1925.

Biography
Anne-Françoise de Villeneuve was one of the thirty-two Martyrs of Orange, a group of religious sisters from several contemplative communities of the Comtat Venaissin and surrounding region—Ursulines and Sacramentines of Bollène, Benedictines of Caderousse and Pont-Saint-Esprit, and Cistercians of Avignon—who were arrested during the Reign of Terror.
Held in the former convent of Sainte-Claire at Orange, which had been turned into a prison, the sisters were brought before the revolutionary tribunal in the summer of 1794. They were condemned for their loyalty to the Church and their refusal to take the oaths demanded by the revolutionary government or to abandon their religious life.
Anne-Françoise de Villeneuve was guillotined at Orange in July 1794, going to her death with the other sisters. Detailed biographical records for several of the martyrs, including her, are sparse, but the community's collective witness is well documented.
She was beatified on May 10, 1925, by Pope Pius XI together with her companion Martyrs of Orange.
