Blessed Angelus of Gualdo Tadino (born c. 1265 AD in Gualdo Tadino, Umbria, Italy; died January 25, 1325 AD in Gualdo Tadino, Umbria, Italy) was an Italian Augustinian hermit friar from Gualdo Tadino in Umbria, venerated for his contemplative holiness and apostolic charity. He is venerated locally in the Augustinian tradition of central Umbria. His feast day is January 25.

Biography

Angelus was born c. 1265 in Gualdo Tadino, a hill town in the mountains of eastern Umbria. He entered the Augustinian Order — formally constituted as the Order of Hermits of Saint Augustine in 1256 — and spent his entire life in his hometown friary, living the Augustinian life of contemplation, prayer, and service to the poor.

He was known for personal holiness and apostolic charity. He died January 25, 1325, at Gualdo Tadino. He is venerated locally in the Augustinian tradition on January 25.
