Blessed Angelus Agostini Mazzinghi
Blessed Angelus Agostini Mazzinghi (born c. 1386 AD in Florence, Tuscany, Italy; died August 16, 1438 AD in Borgo San Lorenzo, Tuscany, Italy) was an Italian Carmelite friar from Florence who was known for his scholarship, holiness, and mystical gifts. He studied theology in Paris, became a noted preacher and theologian, and lived the Carmelite contemplative life with great fidelity. He was beatified (confirmation of cult) by Pope Clement XII in 1761. His feast day is August 16.

Biography
Angelus Agostini Mazzinghi was born c. 1386 in Florence into the noble Mazzinghi family. He entered the Carmelite Order and studied theology in Paris — the greatest center of Catholic learning of the time — before returning to Italy.
He served the Carmelite Order as prior of several houses and as a theologian and preacher. He was known for combining great intellectual gifts with deep contemplative holiness in the Carmelite tradition.
He died August 16, 1438, at the Carmelite convent of Borgo San Lorenzo in the Mugello valley north of Florence. His cult was recognized and beatified (formally confirmed) by Pope Clement XII in 1761.
