Blessed Angela Truszkowska
Blessed Angela Truszkowska (born May 16, 1825 AD in Kalisz, Poland; died October 10, 1899 AD in Kraków, Poland) was a Polish religious sister and the foundress of the Felician Sisters (Congregation of Sisters of Saint Felix of Cantalice, also known as the Felicians). Born into Polish nobility, she dedicated herself to the poor and suffering, eventually founding a congregation that became one of the largest women's religious institutes in Poland and North America. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 18, 1993. Her feast day is October 10.

Biography
Angela Truszkowska was born May 16, 1825, in Kalisz, Poland, into a noble family. She grew up in Poland under Russian imperial rule (the Partitions of Poland had eliminated the Polish state in 1795), and her sensitivity to national suffering shaped her charity.
She was drawn to care for the poor and orphaned children of Warsaw, and in 1855 she and her cousin Clothilde Ciechanowska founded a small lay association for this purpose, under the inspiration of Saint Felix of Cantalice. This association became the religious congregation known as the Felician Sisters (Sisters of Saint Felix of Cantalice), which she formally established in 1857.
In the 1860s, she contracted tuberculosis and was compelled to withdraw from active leadership. She accepted this suffering and entered a long period of hidden contemplative life within her congregation. The Felician Sisters, meanwhile, grew greatly — spreading to North America from 1874 to serve Polish immigrant communities.
She died October 10, 1899, in Kraków, Poland. Pope John Paul II beatified her in Warsaw on June 18, 1993.
