Blessed Andrew of Antioch
Blessed Andrew of Antioch (born c. 1268 AD in Antioch, Syria (now Antakya, Turkey); died June 1, 1348 AD in Antioch, Syria) was a Crusader-era nobleman of Norman-Antiochene origin who entered the Augustinian Order and became a renowned preacher and pilgrim throughout the Holy Land, Europe, and the Mediterranean. He was born into the ruling class of the Crusader Principality of Antioch and spent his long life in pilgrimage and contemplative wandering in the manner of the great medieval peregrini pro Christo. He is venerated locally in the Augustinian tradition. His feast day is November 30.

Biography
Andrew of Antioch was born c. 1268 in Antioch (modern Antakya, Turkey) — one of the earliest and most important Christian cities in the world — to a family of the Norman-Antiochene ruling class of the Principality of Antioch, a Crusader state that fell to the Mamluk sultan Baybars in 1268 (the year of Andrew's birth).
He entered the Augustinian Order and spent his long life as a wandering pilgrim and preacher — traveling to Jerusalem, Rome, Compostela, and other holy places across the Mediterranean world. He lived the life of the great medieval peregrini pro Christo (pilgrims for Christ), combining Augustinian religious life with perpetual pilgrimage.
He returned to Antioch in his old age and died there on June 1, 1348 — the year of the Black Death — at approximately 80 years of age.
He is venerated in the Augustinian tradition on November 30.
