Blessed Andrew Abellon
Blessed Andrew Abellon (born c. 1375 AD in Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, Var, France; died May 15, 1450 AD in Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, Var, France) was a French Dominican friar, prior, and artist who spent most of his life at the famous Dominican priory of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume in Provence — the site of the relics of Saint Mary Magdalene. He was known for his holiness, his preaching, and his skill as a religious painter. He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on August 19, 1902. His feast day is May 15.

Biography
Andrew Abellon was born c. 1375 in Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, Provence — at the foot of one of the most important Marian Magdalene pilgrimage sites in France. He entered the Dominican priory there and spent most of his life in this holy place.
He was known for holiness, effective preaching throughout Provence, and skill as a religious painter. He served as prior of the Saint-Maximin community.
He died May 15, 1450, at Saint-Maximin at approximately 75 years of age. He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on August 19, 1902.
