Blessed Andrea Giacinto Longhin
Blessed Andrea Giacinto Longhin (born November 22, 1863 AD in Fiumicello di Campodarsego, Veneto, Italy; died June 26, 1936 AD in Treviso, Veneto, Italy) was an Italian Capuchin friar who served as Bishop of Treviso from 1904 to 1936 — a 32-year episcopate of remarkable pastoral holiness. He guided his diocese through the trauma of World War I (Treviso was in the war zone), rebuilt the shattered diocese afterward, and lived with personal poverty and simplicity throughout. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 20, 2002. His feast day is June 26.

Biography
Andrea Giacinto Longhin was born November 22, 1863, in Fiumicello di Campodarsego near Padua in the Veneto. He entered the Capuchin Order and was ordained a priest. He served in the Capuchin missions in the Veneto before being appointed Bishop of Treviso by Pope Pius X in 1904.
He served Treviso for 32 years. The most dramatic episode of his episcopate was World War I: when Austrian forces occupied Treviso (November 1917–October 1918) and the city was bombed, he refused to evacuate and stayed with the poorest of his flock, organizing relief and maintaining the sacramental life of the diocese.
He maintained Capuchin poverty and simplicity throughout his entire episcopate, giving away his personal resources and refusing episcopal comforts.
He died June 26, 1936, in Treviso at age 72 and was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 20, 2002.
