Blessed Alexander of Foigny
Blessed Alexander of Foigny (died April 27, 1205 AD in Foigny, Aisne, France) was a Cistercian monk and the second abbot of the Abbey of Foigny in the Aisne region of northern France. He succeeded the founding abbot and governed the community during the period of its early growth. He is venerated locally in the Cistercian tradition. His feast day is April 27.

Biography
Alexander of Foigny was the second Abbot of the Abbey of Foigny in the Aisne, northern France. The Abbey of Foigny had been founded in 1121 by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux himself as one of his earliest daughter-houses; Alexander inherited the leadership of this community from its founding generation.
He governed the community during the late 12th and early 13th century, maintaining the strict Cistercian observance in a period of rapid growth for the Order. He died April 27, 1205, at Foigny and is venerated locally in the Cistercian tradition on that date.
