Blessed Aleksy Sobaszek
Blessed Aleksy Sobaszek (born February 19, 1895 AD in Mosina, Greater Poland, Poland; died June 7, 1942 AD in Dachau, Bavaria, Germany) was a Polish Salesian priest who was imprisoned by the Nazis in the Dachau concentration camp and killed there on June 7, 1942. He is one of the 108 Polish Martyrs of World War II beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 13, 1999. His feast day is June 12.

Biography
Aleksy Sobaszek was born February 19, 1895, in Mosina, Greater Poland. He entered the Salesian Order, founded by Saint John Bosco, and was ordained a priest. He served in the Salesian educational mission in Poland.
When Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, the Nazi regime began systematically arresting Polish Catholic clergy as part of a deliberate policy to eliminate the religious and intellectual leadership of the Polish people. Aleksy Sobaszek was arrested and deported to Dachau concentration camp.
He died on June 7, 1942, at Dachau, one of approximately 868 Polish priests to die there.
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 13, 1999, in Warsaw as one of the 108 Polish Martyrs of World War II.
