Blessed Adela Mardosewicz
Blessed Adela Mardosewicz (born February 26, 1888 AD in Lithuania; died August 13, 1943 AD in Belarusian SSR, Soviet Union (modern Belarus)) was a Lithuanian religious sister of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth who was killed during the Nazi occupation of Belarus in 1943. She is one of the 108 Polish Martyrs of World War II beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 13, 1999. Her feast day is June 12.

Biography
Adela Mardosewicz was born February 26, 1888, in Lithuania. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth and was assigned to the community's mission in Nowogródek (modern Navahrudak), Belarus.
When the Nazis occupied the region in 1941, they began systematic murders of the local population. In 1943 the Gestapo threatened local priests with execution. According to their tradition, the eleven sisters of the community offered their lives to God in substitution for the priests. On August 13, 1943, the Gestapo came for the sisters. They were taken and shot.
Adela Mardosewicz died at age 55. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 13, 1999, in Warsaw as one of the 108 Polish Martyrs of World War II, alongside ten other sisters of Nowogródek.
