The Media wikiproject organizes Saintapedia’s catalog of digital media about the saints and others on the path to canonization. The public hub is Portal:Media; this page is for contributors—how to add items, open work, tools, and the Sources list of channels and creators.

Mission

  • Grow a searchable Cargo catalog (SaintMedia table) of videos, podcasts, and related media
  • Link each item to the correct saint (and secondary saint when needed)
  • Track major creators and channels so coverage is intentional, not only opportunistic
  • Expand beyond YouTube into podcasts, apps, and other formats over time

How to contribute

  1. Prefer page titles of the form Creator/Title (example: Catholic Online/St. Josephine Bakhita).
  2. Use Form:SaintMedia (or the form input on Portal:Media) to create or update a page.
  3. Fill Type, AuthorCreator, Saint, length/audience when known, and put the embed in the Media field (for example a

call).

  1. Check Special:Drilldown/SaintMedia afterward to confirm the row appears with the right filters.

Tools

Work

Suggested ongoing tasks (edit this list as priorities change):

  • Add missing creator pages for channels listed under #Sources
  • Fix media rows with missing or incorrect Saint links
  • Deduplicate near-identical biography videos under the same creator
  • Expand Podcast coverage (today the catalog is overwhelmingly Video)
  • Improve youth-audience tagging and length fields for discovery
  • Cross-link major saints to a short “In media” section when several videos exist
